This refreshing Iced Matcha Latte is a creamy, energizing drink made with high-quality matcha green tea, milk of your choice, and a touch of sweetness. It’s the perfect way to cool down while enjoying the antioxidant-rich benefits of matcha. With its vibrant green color and earthy flavor, this homemade version rivals your favorite café’s – and it’s incredibly easy to make in just minutes!

Ingredients

  • 1 teaspoon matcha green tea powder (ceremonial or culinary grade)
  • 2 tablespoons hot water (not boiling, about 175°F/80°C)
  • 12 teaspoons honey, maple syrup, or sweetener of choice (optional, to taste)
  • ¾ cup milk of choice (dairy, almond, oat, soy, etc.)
  • ½ cup ice cubes

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, sift the matcha powder to avoid clumps.
  2. Add hot water to the matcha and whisk vigorously using a bamboo whisk or milk frother until fully dissolved and frothy.
  3. Stir in the sweetener, if using, and mix until dissolved.
  4. Fill a glass with ice cubes.
  5. Pour the milk over the ice.
  6. Slowly pour the matcha mixture on top to create a layered effect, or stir to combine.
  7. Serve immediately with a straw and enjoy!

Notes

  • For a frothier drink, shake all ingredients in a cocktail shaker instead of layering.
